New Plaster Start-Up

Start-Up Procedure:

Our start-up procedure is a 28 day process to ensure your newly finished pool comes out looking its best. Once your pool is full, we will set your filter pump to run 24hrs a day for the first 7 days. During this 7 day period, we will be adding chemicals & brushing your pool thoroughly to help with the curing process and get your pool/spa balanced for swimming. It is recommended to brush your pool a minimum of twice a day during the start-up procedure. We will brush your pool on each visit during the start-up, but it is the customers responsibility to brush the second time.

Pre Pool Plaster Tips

  • Ensure your pool equipment is functioning at it's best.

  • Ensure your pool filters are in good condition. Clean/replace if necessary.

  • Ensure your pool does not have any leaks.

Fill Day Tips

  • The refinishing company will put an apparatus at the end of your hose when filling. This is to protect the finish and have the hose rise with the water level as it is filling. Do not remove until pool is full.

  • Do not turn off the water as it is filling. Turning off the water prior to it being full can leave a ring at the stopping point.

  • The water level should be filled to the middle of the skimmer.

Start-Up Tips

  • Do not allow people or pets into the pool until the start-up procedure is finished.

  • Do not use your pool cleaner until the start-up procedure is finished.

  • Do not use any heaters, solar, heat pump etc. until the plaster is cured.

  • Do not add any salt (if applicable) until the plaster is cured.

  • Ensure your filter pump runs 24 hours a day for the first 7 days.

  • Remember to brush a minimum of twice a day. The more you brush, the better the finish.
